Task force

A small group with a specifically assigned task, usually of a practical nature and related to the "enablement" of the conference.[Advantages]

Useful for the many practical tasks associated with the organization of a conference. Preparing displays, re-organizing seating arrangements, collating papers and reports. The intense short-term and discontinuous nature of the assignment is good for the development of team spirit.

[Disadvantages]

Too structured for those who believe in spontaneous voluntary responses to things that need doing.
