Scientific reference publications

All current technological and scientific knowledge is attempted to be encompassed in periodically updated publications. Notably these may include inter-disciplinary encyclopedias, or dictionaries or text-books of single disciplines or sub-disciplines. Truly international and current technological and scientific information does not exist in hard-cover published form for most disciplines. Such publications, when issued, may be compiled hurriedly, unable to cope with developments. Despite their utility they give a false impression of immutable authority.
