Scenic design

In theatre, conforming to dramatic operatic, ballet or other structure which divides a performence into acts, and scenes, there may be a distinctive setting of furnishings and backdrops for each division. Scenic design places most theatrical scenery down-stage behind the performers, but stage left, stage right and overhead scenery may also be extensive. Scenic design depends for execution largely on the sub-skills of painting (art and wall), carpentry, mechanical design, and lighting techniques, but nonetheless it is an art form in its own right with its preeminent practitioners in high demand.
