Resolution [CF]

Any deliberative body at regular meetings or at special congresses or conferences, may issue on the basis of its legal power a decision or enactment or a series of these, which are termed resolutions. They are usually adopted by vote and express the viewpoint of the organization or entity represented towards external events, circumstances or forces of concern. Resolutions may call for study of a question or issue or they may call for immediate action. Once passed, resolutions are nominally binding on the entire organization membership and for that reason are often the cause of strenuous debate.
