Religious processions

Religious processions, of pagan origin, constitute an important socio-religious ritual or form of worship in the history of religion. They are found mainly in the higher religions and are a worldwide custom. They are a popular expression of religious faith but sometimes become an outlet for fanaticism and superstition.
