Press conference

A press conference is a meeting of press representatives of the written press, radio and television, generally conducted under official auspices to provide journalists with news about current sociopolitical matters. It may also be a meeting of journalists with public and political figures or scientists held for the purpose of discussion and to answer the journalists' questions. Press conferences can often be manipulated, with favoured journalists asking agreed upon questions to which carefully rehearsed answers may be given.
