Prayer meeting

A meeting of people, generally focused on a particular concern, who articulate their concerns, their fears and resolves and gratitude, in a form of address towards the God in which they all, to greater or lesser extent, hold belief. Participants especially look for a sense of guidance or reassurance which is experienced either as a sign from outside or some deep state of being within them.[Advantages]

Can be an effective mode for making corporate decisions. The sense of commitment and seriousness can be very strong and enduring. The external focus lifts the group above and beyond the limitations and irritations of human interaction.

[Disadvantages]

Can be misused, abused, or simply distracting. There can be a surrendering of responsibility which can be simply a giving-up of power or more seriously can be a handing-over of power into the hands of an elite.
