Picture

A picture is a visual representation of an object, person, or scene produced on a flat surface, especially by painting, drawing, or photography, or a printed reproduction of any such representation. A picture or series of pictures is an efficient means of conveying an idea or an element of a story to small children who have not yet learned to read, to illiterates or to people immersed in a foreign language, but it is unable to express the many subtleties and nuances that may be contained in a written text.
