Menu display

Computer files accessible by a particular programme are presented menu-fashion as a display of options on the screen. Menus are useful in database searches. Programme changes and upgrades applying, for example, to additional sorts and retrieval options, may not always be reflected in a revised menu so that some users may overlook new software features. Also, programmes to have computers search themselves and write their own menus tend to produce literal, non-creative option lists, omitting combinatorial or unusual retrieval features.
