Meeting space

Meeting space must coincide with the size of the group and the intent of the conference. Ideally, each one has his or her place. But if it it necessary to estimate, it is often better to err on the side of slightly too small a space than very much too large a space. Few factors are more dampening to conference participation than a few people hunched together at the end of a huge, empty space, or speaking loudly to one another across vast distances: it already feels as if the event is a flop. On the other hand, moving in a few extra chairs at the last minute stresses people's interest and involvement in the subject matter.
