Participants left out of the main group and who are outside the system and on the fringe.[Advantages]

Can represent creative alternatives and unusual perspectives. They can constitute the only place in some conferences where real transformative potential is present.

[Disadvantages]

Can be irrelevant and completely unrelated to the conference process and serve only as a distraction and a drain on the energy in the process.
