Liturgical drama

A liturgical drama is a medieval sacred drama, based on the Bible and generally performed during some festival related to the ritual of the Roman Catholic Church. Although these medieval plays had their roots in the Christian liturgy, they were not performed as essential parts of a standard church service. Music was sometimes used in the form of incidental dance and processional tunes.
