Inventory

An itemized list and/or count of anything collected physically or accounted for by location constitutes an inventory. Inventories are an essential instrument of internal administrative control. However inventories created and maintained solely by processing records are frequently in error as objects may have been moved, removed, lost, damaged, stolen, etc, and original information on purchases, transfers and receipts, etc may have been incorrect. False inventories may also be prepared as, for example, of nuclear and conventional weaponry.
