Hearing

In law, trials, and in organizations, formal inquiries may be referred to as hearings. In the legislative chamber of governments and in their subordinate investigatory bodies, members may be convened to hear and evaluate expert testimony in the course of hearings on specific issues, legislation, or problems. More frequently, in its legal aspect, a hearing is a formal examination before a judge or magistrate, often to determine whether a legal process should continue to trial or be dismissed.
