Etching

Printing by acid action on a plate, is an intaglio process of reproducing art. Such an acid etching may exist in the form of only one pulled copy, or more usually, in a limited edition, some or all of which may be hand signed by the artist. The consumer is sometimes exploited by over-priced mass-produced etchings set in expensive frames and may be mislead as to the number of copies printed.
