Diagram

A representation, of a system or sub-system or set which depicts the relationships of components or members according to spatial, functional, logical or chronological criteria, or any combination of these. The diagram may incorporate pictorial or symbolic elements, but must of its information is conveyed linearly, with different convention to indicate hierarchy, order, location, precedence, rate direction, magnitude (amplitude or volume) and other qualities or characteristics; and by functional symbols of various kinds, logical, mathematical, physical, chemical, electromagnetic, or electro-mechanical, biological, etc.
