A special type of clock that records the cost of a meeting in terms of travel and other expenses, and person-hours, as it mounts minute by minute.[Advantages]

A silent reminder to the participants of the investment involved which raises the question of whether the time is being used in ways that justify the expenditure. This can increase the pressure on the participants to take responsibility for the proceedings and to become involved in controlling and guiding them. Best when not taken too seriously.

[Disadvantages]

Increased pressure of costs and time can be counterproductive when sensitive and difficult issues require unhurried deliberations and some participants become moralistic about meetings taking too long.
