Conference intimacy

The degree to which participants in a conference are mutually acquainted with one another and are familiar with the most personal details of each other's lives. It is reflected in the nature of topics discussed, modes of greeting, forms of address and in interactions which presuppose a knowledge of the probable reaction of others under widely differing circumstances, as well as in the extent and type of knowledge each member has about other members of the conference.
