Communiqué

A communiqué is an official report on international negotiations or on important events in the domestic affairs of a country. Because it is an official statenment, a communiqué is considered to be a highly credible piece of information. Nevertheless, there are countries in which the official authorities themselves distort the truth of a given situation to serve the political goals of the regime.
