Chart

Charts are a visual presentation of data which employ line and surface magnitudes to represent quantified data and other symbols such as shading, colours, directional indicators and mathematical or other scientific notation to indicate identities, processes, qualities and other non-quantifiable characteristics of the underlying data. Charts aid comprehension, particularly of comparative data, but they frequently are overly innovative in design or overloaded with information.
