Ballet

Ballet is a form of theatrical dance which arose during the Renaissance. Modern ballets may or may not tell a story although those from the classic repertoire are invariably romantic. Experimentation in ballet has led to both abstract and expressionist choreography, and hybrid styles have developed crossing ballet with modern dance. For some people ballet is an antiguated art form with no esthetic relevance in the contemporary world. Others view it as the quintessential theatrical dance because of its demanding technical nature.
