Audiovisual materials

Audiovisual materials are materials in audio and visual formats which convey information by sound and image rather than by text. They include charts, graphs, maps, slides, audiorecordings, videotapes, motion pictures, and models. They convey a direct and immediate visual or auditive message and are thus time savers compared to the written text, but the knowledge they impart is usually of a more superficial nature.
