Meetings that involve participants in a number of different groups in different geographical locations with a visual element that might include facsimile electronic blackboards, interactive drawing with a light pencil on a T.V. screen, digi-pad (a stylus with a writing tablet which shows the written print in a video memory).[Advantages]

The ability to see images greatly enhances the quality of communication, reinforcing the participants' sense of "presence" and confidence in the process.

[Disadvantages]

Requires a lot of equipment and a very tight discipline and a certain degree of adaptation to this meeting process. There are constraints on the informal contacts that can be made at conferences.
