Arrowgraph

An arrowgraph, or association map, is a graph displaying groups of related terms, the relationships being shown by the use of arrows. Its use facilitates the comprehension of sometimes very complex patterns or networks of interrelated concepts. This procedure shares the limitation of most graphic forms of presentation, i.e., a restricted grammar or repertoire of graphic signs. In addition, human perceptive processes can only take in and comprehend a small portion of such graphs at any one time, thus the detail provided in arrowgraphs is overwhelming and confusing.
