Alphabetico-direct catalog

In an alphabetico-direct catalog, the headings of bibliographic records are arranged alphabetically. Subject headings express directly and specifically the subject of the work they represent. Since no attempt may be made to provide catalogue class terms, this kind of direct catalog makes reference to larger subject domain links very difficult.
