- Murccha
Description
There is a cessation of determinate cognition due to some external factor such as a blow on the head. It is distinguished from waking and dream because there are no cognitions. It is not deep sleep as it manifests differently. Nor is it death, because one recovers and the functions of life go on. One is more unconscious than in intoxication (moha) and less than in apoplexy (samnyasa). It is thus a distinct condition.
