Superman

Visions of a superman with supra-normal powers, whether in mythology, fiction, history or philosophy, describe an individual whose qualities are those of ordinary human beings but occurring at an exceptional level. This may be physical prowess, will, mental acumen and force; or it may be spiritual perfection (Swami Omkarananda). Nietsche saw this as man's urge to surpass himself as a will for power, dominating the environment and those about him and contemptuous of those who fail to pursue power.
