Subliminal perception

Under the threshold of conscious awareness are several levels. It is not necessary to be consciously aware of every stimulus all the time, yet things do come into the mind below the level of conscious perception. Meaningful sounds are monitored even while one is asleep, reactions to information below the level of consciousness can be measured physically, and feelings are developed to stimuli even when they cannot be recognized.
