Description

Large organizations are tending to change from stable hierarchical structures to more flexible, continuously evolving forms better able to respond to the rapidly changing demands of society. As a result the relationship between employee and organization has loosened, with employees making greater demands for involvement in their own career development, improvement of professional competence and choice of goals. Career development therefore becomes primarily self-development with the individual's obligation to develop himself becoming greater than his loyalty to his employer.
