Love of the whole

Description

A form of love in which the whole occurs in immediate openness to itself in the occurrence of the parts, such as when a group of people act in a way that reflects their bonding commitments as they live or work together. This occurs when a person is open to the unruly parts of his nature, to the awesome transcendence of mind, and to the boring, negative aspects of his own character -- and when these same aspects are also open to other people. The openness itself reflects the whole as the parts live out their destinies and preferences. The whole of mind finds this stage of love as various parts become free for their openness. Mental accord happens as differences resonate each other in hearing openness as an immediate awareness of the whole in differentiating activity. Love is not then an attitude of a subject, but an open accord of the parts at once. The whole comes repeatedly to itself through the way the parts happen.
