Licence

In the Christian faith, and in others, there has been held the view that faith abolishes the law so that the faithful are no longer subject to law. This view has been misinterpreted by various sects and has led to the countenancing and even encouraging of licentious conduct which goes against the basic principles of the faith concerned.
