Ideological development

Religions and ideologies coexist, each exerting an influence on the other. The development of ideologies, particularly through liberation struggles, increases awareness and criticism of one's basic beliefs and desires, and of the interaction between one's self and God, whether or not one is actively actually involved in the liberation struggle. The acceptance of an ideology, although not the same as acceptance of a religion, has profound religious implications; and each individual has a moral as well as a social duty to assist in elaborating a coherent ideology in line with his or her beliefs. Ideology can, therefore, be the means for understanding of the self as well as being the dynamic factor in social change.
