Human engineering

This is the application of information about human characteristics, capacities and limitations to the design of machines, machine systems and environments so that people can live and work safely, comfortably and effectively. Major aims of human engineering also include: increasing the efficiency with which machines can be operated, increasing productivity in industrial and systems operations, decreasing the amount of human effort required to operate machines, and increasing human comfort in man-machine systems.
