Four doors of retention (Buddhism)

These are: retention of [patience]

(for lack of fear with respect to emptiness); retention of [secret speech]

(for the ability to make pacifying spells to quieten the injurious); retention of [words]

(not to forget names, thoughts and meanings); retention of [meaning]

(not to forget the specific and general characteristics of phenomena).

One of the paths of special qualities according to Buddhist teaching.
