Death (Hinduism)

This is the condition of the jiva or empirical self when all external and internal organs cease to operate until it is associated with another body. There is a cessation of the general and particular sense of the body due to destruction of the merits and demerits producing enjoyment and suffering in the present life. There is complete cessation of relations of the self to the body and the vital forces. Unlike deep sleep the subtle body remains in the same place in the form of impressions. In death it goes with the jiva to another world.
