Cultural revolution

Cultural revolution may be distinguished from political revolution in that the political revolutionary aims to improve existing institutions (in terms of their productivity and the quality and distribution of their products). The cultural revolutionary believes that these institutions are based on consumption habits which have radically distorted the view of what human beings can have and want. He questions the reality that others take for granted and risks the future on the educability of man.

Cultural revolution involves a fundamental change in the relationship between society and education. Education becomes woven into the social, political and economic fabric, covering both the family unit and civic life. Every citizen then has the means of learning, training and cultivating himself, under all circumstances.
