The cry (Christianity)

Free from the mind, the heart and the temptation of the heart, suddenly a cry for help tears through one's heart. It is one's duty every moment, day and night, in sorrow or joy, in the midst of mundane activity to discern this cry rending the whole heart of humankind. One discerns it with vehemence or restraint, according to one's nature, with laughter or weeping, in action or thought, and strives to find out who is imperilled.
