Concentration of easy progress and sluggish direct-knowledge (Buddhism)

Cultivating what is suitable, carrying out preparatory tasks, not overwhelmed by craving, having practice in serenity (absorption concentration), having a mild lower nature, all these mean progress is easy. Cultivating what is unsuitable, lacking skill in absorption, overwhelmed by ignorance, lacking practice in insight, having dull faculties, all these mean intuition is sluggish.

According to Hinayana Buddhism, concentration is considered as of one kind (monad), of two kinds (dyads), of three kinds (triads), of four kinds (tetrads) or of five kinds (pentad). In the first tetrad, this is the third concentration.
