Description

In human potential terms, an individual showing capability to realize a particular outcome will be more likely to achieve success than another individual with the same environmental circumstances but lesser capability. The outcome may thus be predicted reasonably accurately if the capability is known, and is in part dependent on the choice of the agent carrying out the task (one could if one so chose, rather than one could if circumstances were different). Desirable results may therefore be achieved by motivating the person(s) with capability to carry out the necessary actions. This is one of three concepts suggested by Israel Scheffler to be useful in defining [human potential]
