Calenture

This state is one reported by many professional sailors and other seagoers and occurs most often in hot, clear and calm weather. The individual feels an overwhelming desire to leap into the water. Although not entirely clear, some have described a visual hallucination, when the sea appears to be green fields or some known landscape from home; others refer to being hypnotically attracted to the sea and having the utmost difficulty in resisting the urge to jump.
