Generalization

Description

Generalization can be made at many levels. At the lowest, a singular generalization consists of statements of observed uniformities between two isolated and easily identified variables. At a higher level, it consists of a set of interrelated propositions that are designed to synthesize the data in an organized body of singular generalizations. At a higher level of abstraction, systematic theory consists of the conceptual framework within which a whole discipline is cast, namely those theories and assumptions which an investigator uses in undertaking an analysis within a given field.
